					<description>This is a great list!  I had a great advisor (eventually; I had to go through a couple first to find the right one) who did most of these things most of the time.  I think the best thing he did, though, was to insist on meeting with all of his students once a week for at least 30 minutes each.  Nothing like having a weekly meeting with your advisor hanging over your head to serve as a motivator to get *something* done!  And he encouraged his students to bring something to show to the meeting:  simulation results, a paper draft, code, whatever.  So again, that really helped keep me on track.</description>

I waffle between "He must think I'm doing just fine," to "He is completely uninterested in what I am doing." If I get 10 minutes a week face time, I am doing well.</description>
